“Saguaro” is a video work made during the period of social isolation due to the Covid-19 epidemic in the world by the artists Duna Dias and Socorro Dias based on the sensations and experiences lived between mother and daughter during this period of Quarantine. Saguaro is a cactus and represents strength and resistance during isolation and uncertainty. Together the two transform their questions into the artistic residence “Apartamento 15”. This is the first video developed at the residence and which arises from the following questions: What is possible in a meeting between two female artists during a quarantine? What if these two women are mother and daughter? What can isolation reveal as a potency in this encounter that is based on the affection, coexistence, memories and uncertainty of the future? The artists seek to dive into these questions through the relationship between body and camera.
